Dr. Douglas Halliday
Dr. Douglas Halliday, Ph.D., M.D. graduated from medical school in 1979 from Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, New York. He graduated from SUNY with honors and received his MD and PhD. After medical school Dr. Halliday interned at Internal Medicine at Albany Medical Center and at Upstate Medical Center. He performed his residency, and later became chief resident, also at Upstate Medical Center. Dr. Halliday is board certified by The American Board of Otolaryngology, head and neck surgery, and he specializes in the area of facial plastic surgery; including aging face and facelift surgery, neck tightening, eyelid surgery, brow surgery, facial liposuction, micro droplet fat injections, and skin care. He also has a special interest in nasal reconstructive surgery including septoplasty and rhinoplasty. In 2007, Dr. Halliday became a certified affiliate physician for Lifestyle Lift® Corporation.

Dr. Halliday is very active in teaching residents and fellows at University Hospital. He is passionate about helping others in our community and does pro bono work for disadvantaged patients and battered spouses. As a result of his efforts Dr. Halliday was the 2008 Honorary Chair for Vera House, which is a local shelter for battered women. Dr. Halliday provides reconstructive surgery to victims of domestic violence in our area for medical treatment. Most recently he treated a woman from Ethiopia who suffered severe facial burns, as a result of the actions of a witch doctor. Dr. Halliday has performed fourteen operations on her over a period of two years.
Currently, Dr. Halliday is a member of the Alumni Board at SUNY, where he is also active in the areas of pro bono health and also has been involved in helping prospective medical students from Upstate New York to obtain acceptance into medical school.
Dr. Halliday is an alumnus of SUNY, Oswego and has set up an endowment to SUNY in the amount of $50,000. This endowment pays for undergraduate research projects.
He also provides two scholarships each year, one male and one female, from his high school in Oriskany, NY. The criteria for these scholarships are based on both academics and athleticism.
Dr. Halliday enjoys the great outdoors and sports, and he is an active Tri-Athlete. He has been very active in youth sports where he has coached all levels of youth baseball. At one time, he was also President of the majors division of Jamesville-Dewitt Little League Baseball. Over the past ten years, he has been the head coach of CYO basketball at Immaculate Conception in Manlius, NY in both the modified and JV divisions. In the past year he assisted with the varsity team.
